political bloggers under pressure by the police

There are rumors that an inteligence-related division of Police in Tehran is authorized to act against some political activists who try to use the Net as a free medium to express their thoughts and to be in touch with other friends, Rouydad.com reports. A young former-student called Javad Tawaf, who was also arrested in students riots in Tehran a few years ago is one of them who was arrested last week. He maintains a popular Persian weblog and foreign radios have quoted some reports and news from his weblog a couple of times.
UPDATE: The news was not accurate. He is a blogger but he was not arrested for his writings in his weblog. Posted by hoder at January 18, 2003 4:14 AM

First of all I'd like to say great page. Found some of your writing was good. Didn't have time to read more. I was wondering if you could tell me how to get started in bloggers.

You have been referred to me by a few friends. I live in Ottawa, and write articles, a few of them have been published on Iranian web sites (payvand mainly). I was just wondering if you could give me some insights into weblogging, and how to make it known. Thanks in advance. Hooman
