Weblogs in western media
Mainstream western media is gradually finding the importance of weblogs in Iran. Two new pieces by The Times(Registration required) in London and San Francisco Chronicle have been published this week. Both have some quotes from me. CBC Radio One from Toronto has an interesting piece about Iran too, with a little bit about the role of weblogs. (Scroll down the page to see it.)

Oh yeah! Finally I found an English-Iranian place to put my craps... Hossein, what do you really think? You think the western media give a damn shit attention to Iranian movements or what? No man, you have entered to the wrong side! No need to remind you that media pay attention to whatever that brings money to news agancies... Many things come out of proportion in media and forget the next day... So if they are talking about Iranian blogs it should not be taken as "a special report over Iranian movements for freedom", It should be read as " Hey, let's go to sushi bar and grab some, I am sick of Mac Donald for today"

Hoder: I blogged an item early this morning from the blog I Believe That, item was not signed but may have been by azzam. It linked to a report from an admin of a crawler that said you're being blocked out so they can't read you inside Iran-- at least that's what I think it meant. But the blogger said that they can still access you. Thought you should know. Maybe they are trying, but not being successful.

I may be a bit slow, but I just made the connection between "Hoder" and Hossein Berakhshan's comments quoted in the CBC link--you are one and the same.
Not to bunch my panties or take this personally, but would you care to elaborate on your views on Bush's comments about Iran and the Iraqi reconstruction?
At Iranian.com they offer 3 suggestions for our policy--and Bush's comments reflect one of those 3.
And the Iraqi reconstruction has been called lots of things (worse than your comments), but some Iraqis themselves would disagree with you. Thomas Friedman from the NYTimes article, "Buy One, Get One Free":
"A friend in Tehran sent me an e-mail message Thursday, saying, "The Iranian state-run TV is just reporting how Americans have failed in Iraq. [But] average people, like my grocer, actually think Iraq and Afghanistan have become heaven. It seems that they come up with the opposite version of what the government is trying to tell them. My grocer keeps on saying, `When are the Americans coming here? They fixed Afghanistan and Iraq and we are still miserable. . . .' "
Not all bad--in fact, sounds like some good "sh*t."

Good work. You keep gettin linked all over the place. I'll add this post to my website.
When this is all over, you might look back and see that you were instrumental in getting the media involved with the Iranian movement. Maybe your own newspaper in the future free Iranian press?
