Iranian government treats it's own civilians with violence. The government of Islamic so called republic, is nothing but a pure dictatorship. I am canadian/Iranian and I would not go with my native passposrt to Iran, so I am protected, but how about the rest of the population of Iran? they are not worthy of compassion and recognition just because they didn't have the means to scape the country like so many of us were fortunate enough to do.
This woman is only a small example of what my people go through on daily bases. Stop posts on the roads, raiding of the houses for no reason and more or less everyone has been in jail atleast once in Iran, for pitty things such as having a beer!
It's time for the world to help Iranians be free again, it's obvious that civilians have no power and they just get murdered if they attend any antigovernment protests, or such.
WAKE UP WORLD!!! WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

What Iranian gov said is (BBC Persian): She entered Iran with her Iranian Passport (like most of Iranians with dual nationalities; apparently it’s very hard to get a visa for native Iranians, while obtaining Iranian Passport is too convenient!) and so she has been treated as an Iranian and interrogated (= torture in today Persian) for 2 days (23-25 June) and then taken to hospital.

I don’t think you are really missing something.
Obviously it’s not the first time that journalist (non Iranian) get arrested or ill treated in Iran, but as far as I know non of them ended up with loss of life. For example.
There has no enough information been released yet (and may not ever so), thus all I wrote can be some kind of logical guess according to the arbitrary character of Iranian regime?
I believe there was a good chance for Canadian government to pressurize Iranian regime promptly and properly in order o save her. That’s all I mean!

Del Simmons: How were they supposed to protect her when she was in Iran and had made the brave, yet dangerous, move of "taking pictures of a prison in Tehran"?
By issuing credible threats.
What do you suppose the state department is for, travelling all around the world and shaking hands?

DS, no you're not missing anything, I think you've been trolled. I commented on her death on my blog. I'm not having any problems with anyone's site being blocked here, btw.

Aziz,
That is certainly atragic story and it saddens me to no end, but I hardly see how it's the Canadian government's fault. How were they supposed to protect her when she was in Iran and had made the brave, yet dangerous, move of "taking pictures of a prison in Tehran"? I may be missing something here. Help me understand your point, please.

This is such a big failure for Canadian government, being unable to protect its citizen!
