University of Toronto Blogs
I've always wondered why Canadaians, especially univerisy students, are not into blogging very much. Is it because they don't know enough about them, or they already are familiary, but not interested enough to start one.
Anyhow, I've launched a very simple directory for weblogs written by University of Toronto students and instructors as a way of encouraging more students to start blogging and to form a sort of community.
So here is uoftblogs.com, please submit your weblog if you study or teach at UofT.

Since Metafilter is a closed club, I'll comment here :). I'm launching a blog server at SUNY Buffalo. All grad students in the Communication and Informatics programs will get a blog when they come in the door. "Officially" launching at the beginning of the year, but students had blogs this summer. See http://blogs.informatics.buffalo.edu/

we should stop zahra kazemi's interrogator (saeed mortazavi) from coming to canada. his school where he is supposed to study is known, so is his program of study. at least we can ask the university, dean of the program, and immigration canada to re-consider his admission and visa.
he should NOT set foot in canada. it may have already been taken care of, but all of you who read this please write the appropirate authorities to stop him from coming to canada.

salam Hoder,
there is sth funny about your site i've encountered; i use Alborz ISP,i don't know the parent ISP for that, but your farsi page loads up, up to 16th of july where with a proxy i can see up to 22nd of july. that's a nice trick isn't it? at the same time your english blog is blocked, probably they don't know what they have done themselves.
i have tried to consier your suggestion and build an English blog so don't deprive me of your comments.
thanks,

The failed communist professors think blogs are only for the simple minded trash in their midst.

Great idea. I was thinking that something like this was 'needed'. Have you thought of any way on how to get the word out to other U of T students? I think there are quite a few of us out there it's just that the community of bloggers is fairly large and a bit disparate and unconnected. Physical proximity doesn't really play much of role any more.
