Toronto is dead, almost!

Ok, I just have to say this: The whole concept of modern society is based on electricity and when it goes out, big cities would be worse than deserts.

Anyway, this is what I think:

- Happiest man in North Ameica: David Suzuki
- Happiest man in the Middle East: Osamah Bin Ladan (I don't mean any terrorist has done it. But anyways, all anti-american would be happy and I'm not among them, by the way.)
- Most important word: Kyoto agreement
- Most happy people: Envoironmentalist

To be continued...

although "environmental studies or concerns" are not personal fields, i do think it requires a certain level of familiarity with the subject of conervation to opine about it...you wouldn't want ignorant americans/ canadians/ others to make sweeping statements and unthinking remarks about iran and iranian society online, now wouldja?

Forever (well at least for the last 20/30yrs) trying to emulate America with all its fault and benefits, Britain or in particular, London suffered a mini black out yesterday. So know this, we are closer to America than any one had thought.

just some clarification for Tala: There is nothing wrong with being green and supporting environmental movments, as a matter of fact and as u said, it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to not only save our environment, BUT ALSO we have to recover all damanges we have done so far to the nature... BUT it needs a better understanding... IF you link everything with everything indeed u make a mess... ALTHOUGH the increase in consumption is a major environmental problem BUT the blackouts was a result of a technical problem ( bad-built electrical grids in the North AM....I am a supporter of Kyoto agreement and i agree We have to opitimize our enery consumption but WE MUST FIND the source of problem instead of just shooting in dark, Still there is no solid evidance that our modern activities and energy consumption is the major root of the global warming, and global warming has happend manytime even after humans learn to stand on two feet.. in a word.. FOR AN ACCURATE anwer and the best soultion.. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE REAL CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM and that needs changing our old points of view towards nature... in the end when we run out of enegry we will die in process, the whole civilization is built over our ability to apply different sources of energy...

Canadians should hate the Kyoto agreement. Just think, Vancouver would have northern California's climate, and the Canandian plains would become the bread basket of the world. Now Arabs, they should be worried. Sizzle Sizzle.

Hi all -Mr. Highlander As much as I know "Environmental studies or concerns" is not the "personal field" of anybody. If we do not work all together there will be no environment for you as a professional to make money of that. -Mr. Derakhshan Just a reminder: "Toronto will never die." Your title sounds insulting in English Canadian. According to my common sense: "The cascading problem is not the essence of the modern society, that is only a technical problem and will be solved." Could you please stay in "Social Studies" such as the effect of Blogs or Iranian communities, Kyoto protocol has nothing to do with the blackouts.. Understanding the effects of implementing Kyoto protocol needs different understanding of the whole scenario,... making non-sense comments such as "Happiest man in North Ameica: David Suzuki " as you editing in your blog just develop illiteracy about environment issues... in a word, if everybody does his own work in his own field, the world would be a safer place to live....keep on your good work on sociology or media.. Thanks
