Alternative apps to Bloglet

Bloglet is completely broken and has left my over two thousand subscribers with no email for about a month or so, and Monsur Hossein, its creator and administrator, seems to be unreachable.

Does anyone know about any possible alternative which could be setup and run on one's own server and manages the weblog subscription using RSS feeds?

I've found a wonderful open-source application, called PHPList, which supports UTF-8 and RSS Feeds. But I haven't been able to send any of my RSS feeds through it yet. (I've already turned the option on in cinfguration file) Also the application seems to be unable to produce and send automatic emails based on your RSS feeds; the way Bloglet used to do it.

Thanks. I'm working with a friend of mine to create an open source MT plug-in for this express purpose, and that will help helpful.

There isn't one that I know of. However, there is a discussion about this over at Movabletype's support forums.
