Shahrzad, the Iranian singer blogs from the L.A.

Sharzad Sepanlou, the most educated and intelligent female Irnian pop singer has started blogging. She is very popular among Iranian youth inside as well as outside Iran.

She Explains how tough has it been for her to become a singer:

Would you let your daughter join a female band or start working on a Persian album? I would say, probaby not...... Well, no wonder it was shocking for some people to hear that me, the daughter of two writers, and a graduate of Sociology at UCLA decided to become a singer when I first joined the band "Silhouette".

Wow Mahmood WOW! I like Shahrzad and Derakhshan. My comment was not based on jealousy. It is called an informative comment. What shall we call yours? What is your comment based on? Lack of knowing enough English to undrestand my post?

Wow, where is all this jealousy coming from? Shahrzad is a singer we should all be proud of. She is unique and she is paving the way for more intelligent singers. Yes, she is not the only educated singer but it is a big deal for our yougn children to see that a singer can be a graduate of UCLA and not just some loser.

Dear Hoder: As much as I like Shahrzad and you I need to say she isn't the only educated singer. There many more.

Hello! First off, I love your Page layout. Will actually admit that this weekend I trekked over to Washington D.C. and was actually in discussion with a Web Graphics Designer and used your site as a template. I hope you look at this as admiration and not plagerism of your site. Regardless, to the point at hand. I am from LA, have lived their my whole life (Background: Born in 1973 Tehran, Came to US in !974 at 5 months, Moved to Palos Verdes, CA (suburb of LA) in 1979. Currently in NY, NY finishing up Medicine Degree) and to have a degree of Sociology is NO BIG DEAL and to state that it is from UCLA is nothing either since we all know that the Junior College System of California provides those who can't go to a UC from high school another way to get in. And to state that she is an artist? Maybe so but not of the likes of the great classics that performed during Irans Golden Years so to speak. This all said, it is nice you give this person some notariety (did I spell that correctly???), for she must be beautiful as most singers should be and...well I think that is the only reason I can conjour. Interestingly enough I am not here to put anyone down rather to contribute. Sincerely, RA
