Thank you for making more people not to vote
You can't possibly imagine how frustrating is it to see your favorite paper, say New York Times, shut down. We've seen it before, several times, but seems it never looses its nasty psychological effect, even if you are miles away from the homeland.
Anyway, it was very irrational of the hardliners to do this right before the elections while they badly need every single possible vote. Don't they think that it will ruin all their efforts in the last year or so to show a more rational and moderate image of themselves? Or maybe they are so confident about their fraud plans that they don't care about loosing hundreds of thousands of votes?
Therefore I guess it will divide their own camp and can be seen as a quick and violent reaction from the Leader and his close supporters to stop the radical reformists who now dare to directly challenge the Leader.
If we really needed one thing to stop the more traditional supporters of the reform from voting, that'd be it, the closure of two major papers.
Note that one of them, Yaas-e No, was the only publication that the main reformist party, Jebhe Mosharekat, was allowed to publish. Now the fear to close down the whole party is very serious.

Despite income from its oil reserves, the rapid growth and implementation of technology, and a highly educated populace, Iran's participation in global terrorism will keep that nation in the dark ages. Once again, Iran and most of the Middle Eastern countries are on the wrong side of a movement (to destroy terrorism) that has been embraced by intelligent, free world nations. Nobody can force Iran to make the decision to join the global community, especially when there is so much at stake. Living in America, my observation of Iran has been filtered through western media who have their own agenda of what the world should look like. I do not like their view(s) so I looked deeper, and here is what I have determined: Iran has, by sitting on the wrong side of the issues (religous freedom for all, equality for women) become dangerously close to falling behind as the future takes shape. What a shame! I wonder how many wonderful people with their fresh ideas are being stifled by a small minority of religous fanatics.
I'll pray for you Iran, but nothing will change unless your people stand for themselves. God will help you, but must learn to help yourselves. Remember, nothing is free, God will do the hard part. But you have to show some initiative of your own. Do you remember when Jesus raised Lazarous from the dead? He performed the miracle of returning life to a dead body. But notice that he did not roll back the stone of Lazarous' grave. Jesus made his followers roll back the stone. My point? You will still have work to do even as God, who shall be forever praised, does the impossible.
Iran, you are in my prayers.

"You guys are atleast free from American domination and slavery."
Yes and we're into an Islamic slavery. Seriously I hope other Islamic countries also experiment an Islamic regime like Iran's, then they'd stop fantasising about an Islamic one! I'm amazed how the point of view is different between Iranians and the rest of the muslim world!!

Guys I m not Iranian so any of my point of view may look alien to you but still I want to say something to you guys. I am from pakistan and now we are suffering from that so called western influences. You guys are atleast free from American domination and slavery.
I dont know what you guys think about Islam but after 1400 years we have country on which we are really proud of. Islam and Freedom! But now as I read papers and media reports it seems to me that you guys are loosing your affection with Islamic teaching and laws. I dont know if I m true. You have pious Leader who take stands in front of great powers.
I just wanna know your arguments in this regard. I 'll love to iranians as my net buddies!
Take Care
Bye!

That is terrible! But I don't see what it matters at this point, seeing that all the reformers either resigned or boycotted the election. There are no reformers left to vote for.
