French consulate in Toronto sucks

What the hell is French consulate in Toronto doing?

They don't let you apply for a visa unless they give you an appointment, which in turn should be booked only through an online form on their website, no emails, no phone, no fax, nothing. And they won't send you a confirmation email either.

Now, I applied last Friday for an appointment and haven't heard anything from them. What kind of service is this?

I am going to miss the UNESCO conference and I don't have even an appointment for giving my visa request to the consulate. This is crazy.

Man, I'll be doing the same thing soon. For US and France and Canada to return. It is a nightmare.

You probably that the WHOLE POINT of being a Western country's consulate is to make is AS DIFFICULT as possible for people from other parts of the world to apply for and receive a visa. In 1996, I saw a German TV feature on security officers who stood guard outside the German consulate in Tirana, Albania and intimidated and shouted obscenities at the long line of applicants the way you would expect a low-level ghetto teenager to do these days. In visa and immigration-related matters, rudeness IS a form of policy.

Oh no! What is UNESCO going to do now! This is unacceptable! Oh Lord. Please help the humanity!

Ali, the guy says they don't accept phone-ins. You can find their numbers on the web much easier than in print. Hussein, can't you try another Schengen country if France fails? There is a whole 15 of them. What happened to your blue-back passport BTW? Not a citizen yet? Damn 911, it used to take less than 6 months from when you applied.

I think you're spending too much time on the web!! What would your neighbour's grandfather do (a person who has no internet experience)? Grab your yellow pages, find their phone number, call them and ask for an appointment. It's very easy.
