The cheesy 'HASHEMI'
It's really painful working with a dialup connection, especially when your own domain name (hoder.com), Flickr, and so many other websites are blocked by TCI. Everything takes take ten times more this way and this simply could make me completely innefective, had I been living here. So kudos to all Iranian bloggers. Seriously.
The other frustrating thing is that without polls, campaigning becomes like wandering in the dark. Don't know about other campaigns, but reformist campaign seems to be more focusing on working on the ground on a more face-to-face level. So all reformist people are now off to smaller cities where they have a better chance to win. Mostafa Tajzadeh, for example, is off to Mianeh today for a campaign speech along with the former reformist MP of the city which has a Sunni and Kurd population.
However, Rafsanjani is using media extensively. His campaign tv show, the other night, was the topic of discussion yesterday. Pro-reform friends were disgusted by a short moment of 'fake' sentiment he had shown off on TV and the way Rafsanjani is using teenagers to remake his image.

I agree with Mr. Kress. Mr. Ghorbati, you comments are rude and unnecessary. Additionally, you spell 'loser' with one 'o.' You 'looser.'

Do it big time Iran
---------
Well, Hossein good luck on your blogging on the election from Iran. You *are* the future for your country after all. Let's hope you folks get some reformers in there that are willing to make some changes to the status quo. Your nation certainly deserves them.
---------
with the donations you collect, get ADSL. (see http://parsonline.com )
And I just don't get why you want to keep a low profile of yourself being in Iran, while you publicize it in your english-blog? Do you want to become a CBC hero? or you think nobody in Iran will read your English blog?
---------
Looser...loser...whatever
---------
Hossein,
Greetings from the Great Satan. Congragulations on your showing the courage of your convictions and reporting live on the ground. Look out for yourself and keep the info flowing.
---------
Hossein, I find your blog interesting, and informative. Please continue with your writings.
To Mr. Ghorbati:
Sir, I find your negative comments towards Hossein's English ability rude, especially considering your own poor level of English skill.
I have corrected your written comments, as shown below.
So you are in Iran, then take the chance (wrong word – should have used “opportunity”) and enroll for (wrong word – should have used “in”) a (wrong work – should have used “an”) English language class (run on sentence) or something (needs comma) because your english (capitalize “English”) level is rapidly shrinking down (double adjective. Shrinking means down. There’s no need to say it twice). Despite the mistakes that you normally do (wrong word – should have used “make”), how could you call yourself a "journalist" or a professional (run on sentence) when you show such a poor and childish sentences (incorrect use of plurals – a is singular, while sentences is plural. Should have not used “a”) like (needs colon for quote) "He probably think he can look more cool and Westernized this way, but to me personally, it's so cheesy to use English letters for Persian words in Iran. Only uneducated loosers who deparately want to look hip do that. Maybe Rafsanjani's constituency is them."... though (poor sentence structure, and a fragment. You should have said “I thought") it was funny, but seriously (needs comma) think again before you touch the keyboard (needs comma) and don't forget to use spell-checker, (needs period or semicolon) its (wrong word – should have used “it’s”) on the toolbar, click on it (sentence fragment).

"Only uneducated loosers who deparately want to look hip do that."
Like, Yo Javad Ghoobatty, yous sure is educated! I guess the looser you is, the looser yous gets, eh!
---------
Javad, hey man, Shut the F@#$ up, why don't you? The man is out there making the effort to roll out to the world what news gleanings he can gather about a repressive regime.
What are your efforts? Playing grammar and spelling god to the blogs? From the viewpoint of an English major, Hossein's blog is very readable, and enjoyable with those special nuances of his character that he inserts in his dialogue.
Geese, it is a blog, not the New York Times, ya know?
For the love of Pete, chill man, what a tighta$$ !

I have to comment - mainly because of the pretty nasty first post from Javad Ghorbati, who takes you to task for poor English. Never mind, even the most careful and literate English speakers/writers (native or not) make grammatical errors. I do it all the time in emails and notes. The "holier-than-thou" grammar-nazis are really tiresome though - but this post is basically designed to put you down and one has to wonder about the motivation. A Rafsanjani supporter? Shurely shome mistake?
Keep up the good work!
Alastair

Salam, Hossein. Chetoor-e? I hope all is well, especially now that you're in your homeland. Well, since you're on the front I would like to have your impressions about the bomb attack of yesterday in Teh and Ahvaz. It is really unfortunate so many people were killed and got wounded. How is the Tehranis reaction to all this? If you post in your website, I'll check later. However if you can leave some info in my own blog, I would appreciate as I am online throughout the day.
Well, mate, take care and enjoy yr comeback.
