Wiki-ocracy @ Wikimania
Damn it! I'm in Frankfurt now for the first Wikimenia conference, which I have to say is much more successful and popular than I was thinking. But I missed all today's panels, because I missed my train from Zurich and it takes four hours from there to Frankfurt.
I also regret that I wasn't here during the 'Wiki and politics' panel. But actually I had no idea it had been added to the program.
Anyway, tomorrow afternoon -- when many would have left Frankfurt already-- I'm going to talk about how Wiki's can contribute to democracy in Iran and will talk about the new project we've started to change the Iranian constitution with Wikis.
If you won't be able to attend my panel tomorrow, I'd suggest you to read my latest article for openDemocracy, entitled 'Wiki-ocracy' about why Wikis are important for politics.

Hello, I very much liked your presentation on Wikimania (I was there, Salvor from Iceland) and I was inspired by how determined you are to you blogs to get influence in politics. I have for many years been monitoring the Internet actions of politicans in my country and first now I think politician are becoming influencial and that happens through blogs.

Yihaa! The idea of writing a new constitution in a Wiki is a great one! I was actually thinking about proposing that. Just make sure it is fork-able, since different people will most likely want different constitutions, and rather than insisting on using the Wiki to land at a single proposal, it seems like a good idea to come up with different proposals. It would also serve to clearify what kind of different opinions there are among reformists, and serve as a basis for political parties.
