Reza Pahlavi and Ganji's hunger strike
Did you know that Reza Pahlavi had also supported Ganji's hunger strike by calling the organizing members in London?
Potkin Azarmehr, one of the organizers, writes in his blog:
Today there was also a pleasant surprise call from Reza Pahlavi. He spoke to most of the participants on hunger strike. Monarchists or Republicans, it didn't matter, they were more than happy to converse with Reza Pahlavi on the phone.
What they all admired was that Reza Pahlavi backed any unified action in support of all of Iran's political prisoners, irrespective of who had called for it. Unlike some others who made five minute appearances and were quickly interviewed by the BBC Persian Service outside the Bush House and then quickly left, Reza Pahlavi wasn't after scoring political points for himself. What mattered to Reza Pahlavi most, was that we were standing side by side for a common goal, helping to create an Iran where no one will be harmed for their views.
Azarmehr actually has been an active member of the Referendum movement in London. He also was an outspoken supporter of boycotting the last years presidential election which resulted in Ahamadinejad's surge to power.
A friend and strong defender of Amir Abbas Fakhravar, Azarmehr was a producer of the extremely inaccurate and biased documentary made by Channel 4 titled "Forbidden Iran."
This only strengthens my hypothesis that the people who organized Ganji's hunger strike were the same ones who were behind the Reza Pahlavi and Mohsen sazegara's Referendum movement. There was definitely something going here, beyond Ganji's naivity.

Hossein,
It is very important, if not fundamental, for a journalist to have full understanding of his/her approached subject matter. Unfortunately you don't display this attribute and therefore cease to be taken seriously as either a journalist or a social commentator.
My friend, the reform movement has been proclaimed dead. It has been rendered useless. STOP BANGING ON ABOUT IT!
NOBODY WANTS A THEOCRACY IN IRAN! NOT THE IRANIAN PEOPLE, NOT THE WORLD. THE WORLD IS DAMN SCARED OF ATOMIC AYATOLLAHS WHO ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO NEITHER THEIR OWN POPULACE NOR THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.
The Iranian opposition, in its most organic form, represents a growing and dissatisfied population united around one core philosophy. Opposition movements call for nothing less that the establishment of a democratic infrastructure in which the true form of any future Iranian government could be put to the vote in a democratic election process which remains open to people of all political affiliations. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE UNDER A THEOCRACY, HOSSSAIN!
Fakhravar represents a minority of this dissatisfied population. He is the first one to admit that he represents only a faction of Iranian student movement. He has always been transparent on this.
Additionally, Potkin Azarmehr is a true patriot. You absolute ingrate!!!!
As a journalist/filmmaker who has had the privilege of working with Potkin in the past, I can assure you that he is competent, passionate and incredibly honest. He is a not a sensationalist as you put but an activist who serves no purpose but the furthering the goal of establishing a secular democracy for his compatriots. Please think before you say anything-dear boy!
Finally, let me tell you that as a journalist who conducted interviews at the London Ganji-backed strike, I found for the first time, there were people of all political affiliation gathered under one banner. This is something that had previously been thought to be completely unfathomable. But it happened. I spoke to communists, socialists, monarchists, secular democrats and even some students who were once the outspoken supporters of the Khatami’s so-called reform movement and later realised that it was all PASHM! They all came together at last man; they shared a space and talked! This is what Ganji, Fakhravar, Pahlavi, Sazgara and the rest of sane thinkers call out for. They all believe that Iranians have the power to achieve this very important goal, a goal that Iranians have strived for 100 years: a free Iran.
No one is in favour of a military confrontation with Iran, not even Reza Pahlavi. Why can’t you differentiate between the secular-democratic aspirations of Reza Pahlavi and whatever you personally think of his dad or monarchy in general??!
Sanjeedeh harf bezan or you –the same as your reform movement- will be rendered useless!
