Israel
One year after my first ever visit to Israel, I'm back here for a conference for a couple weeks. I think I should explain how Ahmadinejad is not a threat here almost to everyone I meet. It actually started with the first taxi driver. This little Mahmoud owes all of us Iranians a lot for the energy we should put to repair the damage he's done to the image of Iran. Bastardo!

Fucking idiot Iranian leftist and post-colonialist - you know the same kind of people who cheered when the jallaad Khomeini came off the Air France onto the tarmac. You fucking national socialists should all be hanging alongside Ahmaqinejad and Hashemi and Mesbah Yazdi from the lampposts of Tehran.
You wouldnt know what democracy is even if it hit you between the eyes. Iran does not need quislings like you bacheh molla.
And oh BTW, your fucking prophet Mohammad the Tazi raped a 9 year old girl. Now go and commit suicide.

golara hamzeh,
Hoder's mission is not to resolve the Palestinian issues. Iranians and Israelis do care about each other and our history goes back to thousands of years. I, like many Iranians, have feelings for the people of Israel and unlike you, we don't think of Israel as "thief and a rapist".
Keep up the good work Hossein

We do not need to feel the need to be the "natural ally" of a thief and a rapist. Our support of israel before the revolution was dictated by Kissinger from the white house. In fact Iranians resented Shah for his blatant support of the zionist regime.
israel is the biggest anti semitic rumor in the world. israel breeds Anti semitism. Anti Semitism is not a major problem in the world anymore, hate for arabs and muslims is. Arabs are the largest semitic people on earth.
I am a gay atheist, but have the fairness to state that Ahmadi Nejad defends the Iranian strategic national interest better than any other government we have had before and after the revolution, so far so good.

Hossein Derakhshan,
I hope that your personal efforts for peace will succeed. I see no reason why Iran had to take anti Israel stand and intensify its vocal lyrics against Israel in the last couple of years, at the first place. Iran and Israel could have been partners for stability in the ME as it was before the Iranian revolution, but the extreme fanatic now days regime threaten the already fragile peace and stability in the ME.
I hope for better days.

Hossein,
I salute you for having the intelligence and courage to visit Israel, despite the predictable backlash that you will get from some of your peers (as evidenced by the previous commentator).
I am envious that you are spending time in the only democracy in the Middle East, where Arab and Jewish members of Parliament are able to sit together in the knowledge that they do so in complete safety.
Good luck to you in all your endeavours and enjoy your trip!

In response to golara hamzeh:
Israel is a segregated democracy?
20% of the Israeli population is Arab. There are Arabs in the Kineset.
How many Jews live in Saudi Arabia? How many Jews can still live in Iran, Iraq, Syria? Of the Jews that are still in these countries, how many are in the government? There are many Muslim neighborhoods in Israel. If the Palestinians get their own state how many Jewish neighborhoods will there be?
My family’s ancestors have lived in Jersulalem since the sixteenth century. How many Palestinians can say the same?
There are 307 million Arabs in the middle east and 7 million Jews. Most Israelis just want a normal life. If we don’t protect ourselves you people would see us all dead. If Palestinians sincerely want peace let them make peace.

Israel is a brutal occupying power, a segregated democracy no better than the Islamic republic, in fact worse, since it is a state in a constant state of war with Palestinians. Israel has no moral justification to exist as a Jewish state. The best course of action against Israel is what the world did to South Africa.
Those who do not boycott this entity, share the blood of Palestinians and Lebanese on their hands as well. That means You Mr. Derakhshan as well. You have less dignity when it comes to Israel than even Jimmy Carter. have compassion for Palestinians, stop travelling to Israel and instead join the international boycott of the Jewish state.

It is such a shame that we all are somehow experiencing the affects of politics of Iran in our everyday lives, even when we are living and travelling outside Iran....I believe although changes take place in iran, but we will still have people needing more time to change as these 27 years truly has destroyed peoples values and culture,so even when Ahmadinejads rule is over,we still are dealing with the same people...we, the people of iran must change!

Hossein,
Why is it that you feel the need to show support for Israel? You don't need to throw yourself behind Zionism in order to oppose anti-semitism. One can be against the Israeli state whilst simultaneously opposing anti-semitism. In fact, and in my opinion, one is a precondition of the other. One of the difficulties in opposing anti-semitism effectively is its confusion with anti-Zionism. Unfortunately here I fear that you're not making things any easier.

Ahmadinejad has grossly misrepresented the Iranian people in relation to Israel. I agree with you - he owes all of us a lot of energy, but I guess unless he clarifies his statements publicly, it will be a waste of time.
Iranians are now, more than ever, curious about Israel thanks to Ahmadinejad.
The only way we can stop a conflict between Iran and Israel is by educating the people of both sides. Iran and Israel have always been natural allies.
Good luck.

Your task will be pretty difficult. Not only did the obnoxious Holocaust denial conference hurt Irans image, but more importantly, the fact that Iran has supplied Hezbollah through its vassal state Syria with long range missiles doesnt help either. Neither does the continued development of nuclear weapons along with threats to wipe Israel off the map. Thus, a cassus belli exists between Israel and Iran. Part of me would like to believe what you say, but the other part of me wonders whether it is taqiyya, religiously permitted doublespeak
