An Iranian blogger who was living in England, seeking asylum, commited suicide and died a few days ago in London. His weblog, called "Black Crow" in Persian, was a popular and sarcastic website. Many Iranians have left the country in recent years seeking assylum to Eroupe, but have been living in bad conditions for a long time to get the response to their request. Many of them recieve a "NO" in the end.

Thinker X spent his/her whole life working on his/her theory. I, as a student, am supposed to study and understand his/her thoughts and what he/she meant by them in a single univeristy lecture and reading a 20,30 pages in 2,3 days.

bush's policy towards iran

film theory and me

I'm sure I could hardly understand film theory readings in my mother language--Persian. Let alone the fact that many of them are translated from german to English long time ago. Such as "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" by Walter Benjamin in 1935.

protest to an imperialistc kiss

Sify News: "IRNA said a large crowd gathered to condemn the 'un-Islamic behaviour' on Sunday, two days after the kissing incident, chanting slogans including 'Down with the USA' and 'Down with hypocrites.'" This is so funny! Hardliners think that US is spending money to encourage Iranian people to kiss each other. This is the funniest piece of news I've heard for a long time.
