sad news
An Iranian blogger who was living in England, seeking asylum, commited suicide and died a few days ago in London. His weblog, called "
Black Crow" in Persian, was a popular and sarcastic website. Many Iranians have left the country in recent years seeking assylum to Eroupe, but have been living in bad conditions for a long time to get the response to their request. Many of them recieve a "NO" in the end.

one thought per session
Thinker X spent his/her whole life working on his/her theory. I, as a student, am supposed to study and understand his/her thoughts and what he/she meant by them in a single univeristy lecture and reading a 20,30 pages in 2,3 days.

bush's policy towards iran
Alan Hale, co-discoverer of Comet Hale-Bopp and director of the Southwest Institute for Space Research in New Mexico, writes to President Bush: "Because of your actions, people around the world now see the U.S. as, in the recent words of one British writer, "arrogant, hypocritical, self-absorbed, self-indulgent, and contemptuous of others." As one who has been proud to represent America when I've traveled abroad, these words sicken me, because I know that they don't represent the American people ,but they do represent how you have portrayed us to the world."

ianians think part of u.s labels for iran is to some extent correct
Thomas Friedman: 'The poll asked 1,500 Iranians whether they favored opening talks with America, and 75 percent said "yes." More interesting, 46 percent said U.S. policies on Iran -- which include an economic boycott and labeling Iran part of an "axis of evil" -- were "to some extent correct."'

If you have a Blogger Pro version, never login to the system through anything except that this address: http://pro.blogger.com. Otherwise your password is not encrypted and your account will face a high risk of being hacked and deleted, like what I went through twice in the last couple of weeks. the latest was last weekend. Also, BlogThis tool doesn't encrypt your password either, be careful to use it.

film theory and me
I'm sure I could hardly understand film theory readings in my mother language--Persian. Let alone the fact that many of them are translated from german to English long time ago. Such as "
The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" by Walter Benjamin in 1935.

protest to an imperialistc kiss
Sify News: "IRNA said a large crowd gathered to condemn the 'un-Islamic behaviour' on Sunday, two days after the kissing incident, chanting slogans including 'Down with the USA' and 'Down with hypocrites.'" This is so funny! Hardliners think that US is spending money to encourage Iranian people to kiss each other. This is the funniest piece of news I've heard for a long time.
